    Hi Wendy!

    My first two favourites:

    graduation day
    the upward tumble
    of starlings

    Tinywords (Issue 23.1, June 20, 2023)

I do really appreciate a strong juxtaposition of seemingly unconnected imagery, though once paired up, create that spark! Of course we all hire those University hats that are tradition to fling as high as possible into the sky! (smile)

    So are they starlings or…

“The square academic cap, graduate cap, cap, mortarboard or Oxford cap is an item of academic dress consisting of a horizontal square board fixed upon a skull-cap, with a tassel attached to the centre.”

    Or even both! (smiles)

I do love a senryū that makes use of hokku or haiku seasonal word or phrase devices, and with a twist! <grin>

    Both very funny, and thought-provoking.

That phrase “with every blink” is sublime along with ‘another star’ with everything else a sheer bonus to the senses!!!

    warm regards,

        Hi Wendy,

My privilege and humble honour! I do love this feature set up by Kelly Sauvage Moyer, where we get to visit a set of three poems every day.

I especially enjoyed your sheep poem, Wendy, perhaps because I like anything to do with them, given my family name?!
